Like a beating heart, the museum seeks to draw materials from the city and flow back to it: to listen to the multitude of voices and tell a variety of stories, to create collaborations between residents and educational, cultural and community organizations operating in the city and to echo their work, and to be a home for researching the past, observing the present and dreaming of the city's future.
The educational and community activities, which take place in the museum and throughout the city, aim to cultivate a lively civic-urban identity among communities and people.

The residents of the city and its guests will take an active part in the design of the museum, in the formation of the collection, in the display in the physical and online space, and in its branches throughout the city. The museum will seek to explore the unique spirit that characterizes Tel Aviv - Jaffa, will serve as a gateway and reflection of the city and its neighborhoods, and will connect spaces and experiences.
