One building, three incarnations – a journey through the architectural history of the Tel Aviv-Yafo City Museum.
Join us for a guided tour of a building that began life in 1925 as a luxury hotel designed by architect Moshe Cherner, later became Tel Aviv’s City Hall, and exactly one year ago, entered a new chapter as the Tel Aviv-Yafo City Museum.
The tour will explore how the building’s location—perched on a hill in the heart of the city’s cultural and business center—influenced its design, highlight its distinctive neo-classical style, discuss its renovation and preservation in 2009 to mark Tel Aviv’s centennial, and offer a behind-the-scenes peak at the making of a new museum—a home for city residents.
What’s in the program?
A guided tour of the building focusing on its architectural history, behind-the-scenes stories, and overview of the museum’s community-driven vision and how it connects to residents across the city.
