When did you realize Tel Aviv was your new home? Do you remember?
Immigrants built the State of Israel, and since the 19th century, millions of newcomers have settled in Israel.
The City Museum and Ulpan Bayit invite you to share what it's like to be an immigrant or newcomer in Tel Aviv! We know it’s not always easy to do this in Hebrew, but we are here to help you do just that!
We want to hear your story, your experiences of the city, what it’s like to navigate a new language and meet new people, and how a place like this becomes home.
In short – tell us about your Hebrew City in an evening dedicated solely to you.
What’s on the program?
• 19:00-20:00 pm – Guided museum tour of exhibitions showcasing historical and cultural stories of the city.
• 20:00-20:30 pm – Opening discussion about the importance of story collecting and Ulpan Bayit’s vision of creating a community based on Hebrew study.
• 20:30-21:15 pm – Storytelling workshop generating stories that will be added to the museum's official archive.
• 21:30 pm – Humorous, musical storytelling performance created by Kosta Kaplan, a Tel Aviv rock star and teacher at Ulpan Bayit, who will weave stories in easy Hebrew into an authentic Tel Aviv vibe.
