Be'orot (In Lights) Tel Aviv-Yafo 117th Birthday Celebrations

From the gleaming sand to the glittering skyline, from a city streetlamp to a maritime lighthouse – Tel Aviv-Yafo has been spreading its light for 117 years. Continuing the city's birthday tradition, we'll light up the whole house and invite you in – and out – for an illuminating and awakening experience on one very festive evening, taking place throughout our wonderful city's museum.

What awaits between the floors?

* Balcony Manifesto: "Things I Lost, Things I Found"

We invite you to the courtyard of the City Museum at Bialik Square to lift your gaze toward the balconies. Five speakers will take the stage to tell you – and the city – about their "losses and finds." Personal, candid, love-filled texts (with a touch of frustration, because this is Tel Aviv, after all) about who we were and who we've become against these white walls.

* Courtyard Party: DJ Echo Takes Over the Museum!

Who says you must stay quiet in a museum? Singer and creator Echo takes the stage to shake the building. With the sharpest beats, an unstoppable groove, and a musical menu spanning hip-hop and pop, Echo is going to turn the museum's space into the hottest dance floor in Tel Aviv. Come move the city!

* Nadav on the Roof: Artist Nadav Machete illustrates neighbors' stories live

What really happens behind the closed doors of a typical Tel Aviv building? On a huge white screen projected live, Nadav will slowly reveal floors, apartments, and relationships in a building whose entire front wall is transparent. But the stories? They come from you. Throughout the evening, you can leave Nadav notes about small, funny, or surreal moments with your neighbors – and watch them transform into lines, characters, and a story within the illustrated building.
