Styrofoam and acrylic paint
The three buildings in the project engage with the Bauhaus language and the International Style associated with Tel Aviv: horizontal lines, rounded balconies, and a modernist promise of order, light, and stability. Yet they are not made of concrete or stone; instead, they are sculpted from Styrofoam - a lightweight, fragile and crumbly material that mimics architectural mass while revealing its vulnerability at the same time. The furrowed, peeling surfaces seem to bear the marks of time, erosion, and a brittle reality. The home, associated with security and a sense of belonging, appears here as a vulnerable, undermined form, lingering between model and monument, between urban memory and a future ruin. Thus, the work offers a view of the city as a space of constant construction, where even the most stable element already bears the traces of its future disintegration.
