Site-specific object, mixed media Plastic pipes and copper connectors
Beneath the surface, water moves along unseen paths: a network of urban transport, regulation, and dependency. The installation traces this movement, translating it into a system of blue pipes and copper connectors that unfolds across the space, forming a structure evocative of eddies, flow and accumulation.
Water, as a life-sustaining element, is present in the work as one of the foundations of urban existence. No activity, settlement or gathering is possible without it. The vertical extension of the urban water system upward into the exhibition space provides the familiar infrastructure with a new, almost ritualistic appearance, of visibility and suspension.
The city’s backstage is momentarily revealed and takes on physical form. The object itself thus becomes a kind of chandelier, suspended at the edge of an internal urban circulation. The exposed wires supporting it evoke a sense of precision alongside material delicacy, placing the work between a structured formal order and a continuous state of becoming.
