Bags, old clothes, papers, and used packaging collected across the city
Clothing, papers, packaging and bags – urban materials bearing traces of personal use, touch and memory – were collected from the public space in Tel Aviv, stripped of their original context, and transformed into raw material for a new act.
The process of disassembly also entails an act of assembly: the remaining material is transformed into the form of a shoe. The new object does not erase its origins but continues to bear traces of the previous life it once held. Thus, an object is created that serves as both material evidence and a new unit of usage.
The shoe appears here as an object of movement: It mediates between body and ground, yet also points to a path, a passage, and a journey. Within an urban space where materials and people move ceaselessly, the shoe becomes an image of continuous transition and of the possibility of dwelling within movement.
